I recently submitted an inquiry to the Google Adsense support team. The inquiry was aimed at a solution for loading the Google Text ads into a Flash movie. I’m sure I could hack something out to make it work but I didn’t want to make Google mad and thereby penalizing me in some sort of way.

Here is my submission to the Google Adsense team regarding adding Adsense to a Flash Movie:

Is there any way to load adsense into a Flash movie?

Here is a snip of the repsonse from the Adsense Team member, you’ll see that they are behind the tech times:

Hello Dan,

At this time, it is not possible to load ads into a Macromedia Flash
movie. Our crawlers aren't able to derive meaning from images and dynamic
media such as Flash movies. Your website will need to contain sufficient
text-based content for our system to display relevant Google ads. If we
are unable to gather required information from a page, we may serve public
service ads, which are not specifically targeted to a page.

Note to Google Adsense Team: It is ‘Adobe’ now and not Macromedia. Get with the times.

Now, Google…keep on doing good stuff.

We are working on a site redesign for tornadostream. The focus is to associate the power of tornadostream as well as to get people to sign up and put it on their blogs. If we average everything out, the player is being loaded over 22,000 times a day (that’s nearly 700,000 times a month). The response has been overwhelming and we’ve received barrel-loads of positive feedback from users all over the globe.

Ultimately, our goal is to provide an additional place for artists to showcase their talents and place where fans can go and create and share their playlists with the world.
