Rush Limbaugh – “Worst Person in the World.â€?

Rush Limbaugh – “Worst Person in the World.â€? (Michael J. Fox)

Every night on MSNBC Keith Olbermann hands out his award for “Worst Person in the World.” Today, it is Rush Limbaugh for his remarks about Michael J. Fox.

To Rush Limbaugh: Would a few hundred dozen cookies stuff in your pie hole make you shut up? Maybe we had make it a few hundred baker’s dozen…and not the small Girl Scout kind but the bigger kind like mom use to make.

Keith Olbermann’s “Worst Person in the Worldâ€? pick and why:
/*

But the winner, comedian Rush Limbaugh, having buried himself by calling Michael J. Fox a faker in those Missouri campaign ads. Having put up his own headstone by saying the symptoms a Parkinson’s suffer gets when he stops taking his medication include shaking, actually it’s immobility.

Rush has defaced his own memorial today saying of Fox, “Every one of his ads is run for the benefit of a Democrat, even in Maryland, where the Democrat beneficiary of the Michael J. Fox ad voted against exactly what Michael J. Fox advocates in the ad.

That would be Benjamin Cardin.

Actually, Mr. Cardin voted for the stem cell bill Fox endorsed. So Rush you’re 0-4, and as to the Democrats-only part, you really need to look at the ad we showed last night from 2004 with Mr. Fox endorsing Republican Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania: 0-5.

Who’s off his meds and is exaggerating the effects of his illness? Comedian Rush Limbaugh, that’s who!

Firefox 2.0 is out folks. And, just in time to show Microsoft that Internet Explorer isn’t the only browser on the block and Mozilla will be around for the long haul.

I just downloaded the latest version of FF 2.0 and it looks pretty slick. I’m hoping that it doesn’t suck.

Flash: Actionscript, Testing for Null or empty variables

Here’s a couple simple ways to test for a null variable in Flash, Actionscript:

//Sample 1, if your variable is named myvar

myvar=”d”+var+”d”
if(myvard==”dd”){
trace(“myvar is empty”)
}

//Sample 2
if(myvar==undefined){
trace(“myvar is empty)

Utah:31 New Mexico: 34 – 2nd Half Breakdown…Again

New Mexico’s comeback matched the rally at UTEP on Nov. 23, 1974. Leave it to the Utes to make set another milestone.

Kyle Whittingham: “I was feeling pretty good. All we needed to do was get a stop and we get the victory. But we couldn’t get the stop.”

What? Not throwing anyone under the bus? Or wait….maybe we should tune in tomorrow to see who it’s going to be…

Kyle Whittingham: “The freshman quarterback played very well. What can you say. That’s a heck of a night. He tore us up.”

I can say that you sucked it up in the final 2nd half…again. Season is over.

IE7.com

If you have not seen this yet take a look now: http://www.ie7.com

Of course the acronym “IE” means Internet Explorer. “7″ means release 7 of Internet Explorer. And, as you can see, on that site it is a image of the Firefox icon. So, yeah it’s parody.

It’s funny…I mean funny to me cause I won’t be sued for millions like Mark Sheppard, the owner of that domain name whom I’m sure meant it as a funny joke. Well, it is funny to me as I jsut said…but Mark…oh Mark, you’d better take it down. It was funny while it lasted…oh, so funny.

Dave Matthews Band – Stand Down (err Up)

Last June (2005) when the latest Dave Matthews Band CD came out (Stand Up), after listening to the CD a few times I sent my feedback to the band in disgust:

--
I want my money back - this new CD is not DMB. I listened through twice and took it back and got my money back. Now, I want to be compensated for the wasted time in listening to it.

The riffs are weak guys. The melodies are lost. Too much crap in the background. Seems like you guys lost something after Lillywhite. Where did it go? Artist integrity? yeah something like that.

What are you guys doing? The "old fans" want the "old DMB". Beauford is one of the most talented drumers of our time - let him drum. C'mon let's hear some jams again. You guys aren't a studio band. You're a live band, write some new music for the live fans.

Don't become the Pearl Jam of the 00's Dave Matthews Band.

Regards,
Dan

Here is their reply:

--
Dan,

Thank you so much for your letter. Thank you for taking the time to write to us. If it were not for you, DMB would not be where they are today, so for that, we thank you again. Your letter will be passed along to the members of the band.

Thanks!

So, to try to be nice and give “Stand Up” by The Dave Matthews Band another try, I just listened to the whole album again….just once more. I didn’t want to abandon a great band with talented musicians that is The Dave Matthews Band. And so after this last listen…I came to the understanding that it’s crap.

Mozilla Rolls Out Firefox 2.0 RC3 – Almost

Mozilla Rolls Out Firefox 2.0 RC3 – Almost…

Firefox 2.0

Just as Microsoft is about ready to release Internet Explorer 7.0, the gang at Mozilla are right behind with Firefox 2.0.

    With the new term Web 2.0 coined by O’Reilly Media in 2004, many people are asking “What is Web 2.0? Did my internet change? Do I need to download this new world wide web somewhere?”

    Here is a explination from Wikipedia.com:
    /*
    Web 2.0, a phrase coined by O’Reilly Media in 2004, refers to a supposed second-generation of Internet-based services — such as social networking sites, wikis, communication tools, and folksonomies — that let people collaborate and share information online in previously unavailable ways. O’Reilly Media, in collaboration with MediaLive International, used the phrase as a title for a series of conferences and since 2004 it has become a popular (though ill-defined and often criticized) buzzword amongst certain technical and marketing communities.

    Internet Explorer 7 Just installed

    I just installed Microsoft’s Internet Explorer version 7.0 and so far so good. The only thing I see that they didn’t fix is the active content border issue like with Flash movies. Microsoft just needs ot bite the bullet and pay the dang guys what is rightfully theirs. Internet Explorer 7 was suppose to fix this and they’ve dodged and turned their heads again. IE7 better not suck.

  • Richard Edelman and PR Blogging

    With big-name companies, like Wal-Mart, Richard Edelman has taken a step towards blogging becoming a main source of PR data. See the following below about Edelman:

    /*extract starts */

    Some large corporations have employed specialist firms like Brandimensions and Nielsen Buzzmetrics to track online chatter about their products and services. And some ad agencies are moving to incorporate such services into their own offerings. Edelman monitors scores of blogs devoted to following individual clients of the firm, like Wal-Mart Stores.

    Now Edelman, in partnership with Technorati, is moving to extend its blog-tracking abilities into new areas. Edelman has sponsored development of new Technorati sites in French, German, Italian, Korean and Chinese. Several of those services, which supplement Technorati’s existing English-language and Japanese sites, went live as “beta offerings this month. Until February, they will be available exclusively to Edelman and its clients; at that point, they are scheduled to be opened to the public.

    “It’s a way of determining in very short order who’s talking positively about you and who’s talking negatively, said Richard Edelman, chief executive of the PR firm.

    Edelman and Hirshberg said the European- and Asian-language services were particularly necessary because finding bloggers who write about brands and products could be more difficult in these regions than in the United States. In many European countries, the leading blogs focus on politics or cultural issues; in the United States, they are much more likely to look at business or technology.
